Back by popular demand for a brand-new cabaret, Lillias will regale audiences with songs they know and love.

Broadway’s Lillias White and Hugh Panaro join Mr. Finn’s Cabaret Lineup at Barrington Stage

Pittsfield— Barrington Stage Company has announced additions Mr. Finn’s Cabaret Lineup, Tony Award-winner Lillias White and Broadway’s Phantom, Hugh Panaro.

On August 13th and August 14th at 8 p.m. on both evenings, Tony Award-winner Lillias White returns to Mr. Finn’s for two performances. White is a veteran Broadway star, having been in “Hadestown” and “Dreamgirls”. Back by popular demand for a brand-new cabaret, Lillias will regale audiences with songs they know and love. Celebrating tunes from the Broadway, blues, jazz, and pop worlds, including numbers Lillias is known for and some she’ll be belting out for the first time. Tickets are $60.

On August 21st at 8 p.m., Broadway’s Phantom, Hugh Panaro joins the exciting Mr. Finn’s Cabaret series. Panaro’s career spans decades starring in some of the most successful musicals of all time.The music and his stories make this an evening you won’t want to miss! Tickets are $55.

The remaining previously announced line up includes Tony Award-winning composer/lyricist Jason Robert Brown on August 31st and September 1st, and BSC Associate Artist and Broadway favorite, Alan H. Green on September 2nd and 3rd.

The performances are at Barrington Stage Company’s Mr. Finn’s Cabaret on the lower level of the Sydelle and Lee Blatt Performing Arts Center on Linden Street in Pittsfield. All shows will start at 8 p.m. with the seating and bar opening at 7:15 p.m. Seating is reserved. The Mahaiwe presents Devon Allman and Donavon Frankenreiter’s ‘See It All American Tour’

Great Barrington— On Wednesday, August 9th at 7:30 p.m., the Mahaiwe presents Devon Allman and Donavon Frankenreiter’s “See It All American Tour”. Allman and Frankenreiter are attempting to set Official World Record with “50 Shows in 50 States in less than 50 Days”, this is the Massachusetts stop on the tour.

For nearly four decades, Donavon Frankenreiter has been traveling the globe, first as a professional surfer and now as a musician. With over a dozen albums under his belt, Frankenreiter has worked it on the touring trail worldwide for three decades, entertaining audiences with his unique blend of laid-back grooves, philosophical lyrics, and soulful delivery.

Blues Music Award-winning singer, guitarist, songwriter, and producer Devon Allman (son of rock legend Gregg Allman) has appeared at the world’s biggest festivals and co-founded the supergroups Royal Southern Brotherhood and The Allman Betts Band, amassing a recording catalog of 11 albums. Allman also writes a column for Guitar Player Magazine, is endorsed by Gibson guitars, and serves on the board of directors for the National Blues Museum.

The concert is on Wednesday, August 9th at 7:30 p.m., at the Mahaiwe on Castle Street in Great Barrington.

Elliot Norton Award-winning actor Annette Miller returns to Shakespeare & Company, reprising the role of Golda Meir in ‘Golda’s Balcony’

Lenox— From August 5th through August 20th, Elliot Norton Award-winning actor Annette Miller returns to Shakespeare & Company, reprising the role of Golda Meir in “Golda’s Balcony” alongside the original director, Daniel Gidron.

“Golda’s Balcony” is the inspiring true story of Golda Meir, Russian immigrant, American school teacher, and fourth Prime Minister of Israel. The world premiere of “Golda’s Balcony” was produced 20 years ago at Shakespeare & Company, featuring Miller, and went on to become the longest-running one-woman show in Broadway history. Miller earned the Elliot Norton Award and IRNE Award for Outstanding Actress in a Solo Performance for her performance.

Witch Slapped presents a duo of events hosted by recently crowned Majesty of the Berkshires, Poppy DaBubbly

Pittsfield— On Sunday, August 6th, Witch Slapped presents a duo of events hosted by recently crowned Majesty of the Berkshires: Poppy DaBubbly.

From 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., Witch Slapped presents “Bebop with Poppy”. Toddlers and their grown-ups will bebop, sing, and dance with Poppy, exploring movement and language skills through dance, creative movement, echo songs, and more. This event is for ages 2 to 4. The cost is $15 and free for grown ups with their child.

From 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Witch Slapped presents “Drag Story Hour”. Play dress up with Poppy and the Witch Slapped drag collection to find your inner king, queen, and everything in between. Poppy will then read stories while you sing, shimmy, and “YAS Queen!” This event is for all ages. There is no cost, but donations to benefit Witch Slapped and Berkshire Pride are suggested and encouraged. This is a walk-in event.

Chesterwood’s popular ‘Tableaux Vivants’ are back for two nights only

Stockbridge— On Thursday, August 3rd and Friday, August 4th at 5 p.m. both evenings, Arts Alice presents Tableaux Vivants (Living Pictures) created by Doria Bramante.

Join Mr. and Mrs. French in their garden and join their family and friends in one of their favorite parlor games – the creation of “live pictures” using costumes and props – all staged within the original, custom built frame designed by French!

The performances are on Thursday, August 3rd and Friday, August 4th at 5 p.m. both evenings at Chesterwood on Williamsville Road in Stockbridge. Tickets are $25, $20 for members, and free for children age 18 and under. Tickets and more information can be found by visiting Chesterwood online.

Seventh Annual ‘Moby-Dick’ read-a-thon

Pittsfield— Starting on Thursday, August 3rd at 10 a.m., “Call me Ishmael” and sign up to read part of Melville’s masterpiece on the site where it was written.

A very popular annual event presented by the Berkshire County Historical Society, participants read aloud for fifteen minutes with the next participant picking up where the prior reader left off. Readers will have the choice of participating virtually or on site at Herman Melville’s historic Arrowhead.

The reading starts Thursday, August 3rd at 10 a.m. at Arrowhead on Homes Road in Pittsfield. Solo and group readers are welcome to read until the book is finished. Pre-registration is required. For more information and to book your 15-minute slot, visit Berkshire County Historical Society online.
