QMS has won the Industry of the Year award for 2022 and 2019.

HENDERSON, Tenn., July 14, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Quality Metal Stamping, known for its familial work environment since 1960, places its top investments — people, technology and community — at the forefront. This approach has earned the business Industry of the Year awards in 2019 and 2022 from the Henderson/Chester County Chamber of Commerce.

"Our mission is to continue to be a staple in the community and be globally competitive, with a commitment to current and future members of our workforce," QMS Vice President Stephen Serling said. He is a fourth-generation owner and shares management responsibilities with his brother, Colin.

The company's diverse team of employees includes recent high school graduates as well as legacy employees, who often teach and mentor the next generation. Currently, students from Jackson State Community College, Tennessee Tech University, Tennessee College of Applied Technology at Crump, Union University and three recent high school graduates (two from Chester County and one from McNairy County) are completing internships or working for QMS.

Madison Woofter, who graduated in May 2023 from Chester County High School, works in robotic welding and is OSHA certified. A work-based learning student while in high school, Woofter joined QMS as a full-time employee in July. She also received a $1,500 scholarship from QMS during her school's awards day. "My grandfather inspired me, [and] that's why I'm working in this area," Woofter said.

Lisa Rowland, who has worked at QMS since 1999, operates the oldest press machine in the plant, the Minster 1958. "The people make the place," Rowland said. "This is a good work environment with hands-on training, and we work as a team."

Quality Manager Cassandra Murchison has been at QMS for five years and wants her grandchildren to consider a career in the field. "This is a great place for them to work," she said. "It feels like home, we're a family, and we care about our customers."

Serling expressed excitement and pride about the company's longevity in the Chester County community. "We are extremely grateful to do business here, mostly because of the incredible people that put their heart and soul into their work with a smile on their face. We are excited to build on this for many years to come," he said.

Quality Metal Stamping specializes in the production of metal parts for industries, such as power transformers, metal roofing, and heavy trucking. QMS employs 100 people, with 92 based in Henderson, five in Humboldt and three in New York.
